Our solution, focuses on making space for water by removing waste and debris from rivers, allowing water to flow more freely and reducing the risk of blockages and flooding. By integrating an efficient rubbish collection system, we aim to protect both the environment and surrounding communities.
Our Solution
River Rescue is an interactive engineering model designed to demonstrate how litter can be removed from rivers using a simple, visible mechanical process. Inspired by proven systems like Mr. Trash Wheel, the model uses a front guiding system and a partially submerged conveyor to collect floating waste, lift it out of the water, and deposit it into a removable container.
River Rescue also highlights how engineering can provide practical and sustainable solutions. The model incorporates a hydropower-assisted concept, showing how natural water movement can support the system’s operation. This reinforces the idea that effective designs can work with the environment, not against it.
